Jean,

You’ll only be gone for 6 days. Get a 1 gallon division board feeder and fill it up before you leave. That should hold them until you get back. Candy boards are expensive forms of emergency early-spring feeding. If you are going to spend that kind of money, I would buy a hive top feeder instead.

Hey Marty,

I thought Bailey's candy boards had pollen sub as well as sugar in them.  Wouldn't this grow hive beetles as well at this time of year?

Cheers,

Brad

Morning,

Jean you can go to baileys & get a candy board. Plenty in stock i think.

Just put your main feeder on the day you leave & one of those. Its basically a slow time release as its hard for the girls to consume at once.

Hey beekeepers! Please see the email below from a new beekeeper asking for a little help feeding one of her hives. Please email her if you live near her and would be willing to help her out. I just live too far away to do it!

Good morning, Christine,
My name is Jean Corbett and I am a novice beekeeper. I am going to be away from home for a week and need someone to feed one of my hives of bees with sugar water while I am gone (09/17/16 - 09/23/16. I live at 2005 Jones Ferry Road in Orange County. I tried to use the interactive map online but was unsuccessful in finding anyone near by. I know Cedric Peace is nearby but have not had a reply from him. At the time I set my hive up, there was also someone on Moon Ridge Road that I failed to visit and now do not remember.

I apologize for the inconvience but would you so kind as to send me a list of beekeeper names close to me?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Sincerely,
JEAN CORBETT
