Thanks Mike & everyone who replied with ideas & support.

Don replied to feed them now so i did. Used an old in hive feeder & closed off bottom screen & top entrance. Reduced front & am now waiting.

I also gathered 8-10 fresh still twitching bee samples if anyone needs testing. Though there is no current nor recent sign of robbing the food stores were low. A newly made nuc from an extra brushy queen 2 mths back. They were just moved up to this 10 deep before leaving.

Most odd, beyond piles of twitching bees is the super calm lethargic behavior. There seemed to be a swarm from this hive before i left, but maybe it was the calmest robbing ive seen and i missed it. Doubt it given that population, but they are bees & anything is possible.

Ill monitor & update later.

Here is a guy in wake co who just found the same thing at his hive yesterday.

I had a nearly identical experience, on top of it when I opened the hive they had been robbed to the point that there wasn't a cell of honey inside.

There were piles of dead bees just outside the entrance and on the bottom board.  The queen and a few thousand bees are still alive, so I moved them to a nuc to try to save the colony.

The few experienced people I have shown the pictures to believe it's a result of pesticide and the remaining bees were likely brood or nurse bees at the time of the exposure.

The hive 5 feet away is fine, so it must have been during their foraging.
