Hi Eric and welcome!

I echo what Blair said. The wires pulled across the frames are great for
brood but more important if you plan to spin your honey super frames. You
should start off checker boarding at first then go from there as you gain
experience.

The most important thing I can add is that you need to build and maintain
your stands level and plumb. Bees draw comb plumb... so it will increase your
enjoyment and make for happy bees.
