Unfortunately most people's PC is the most important set of records they
own. With on-line banking, e-mail, state and federal services having a PC is
like having your bankbook, driving license, insurance papers, and passport.
And they don't need anything to hold the data until retrieved.

Red Cross policy is that companion animals can be in the shelter if the
building owner allows them, since the building is borrowed. Some Health
Departments don't allow non-service animals where food is being processed
or served. Also, since most shelters operate as open dorms having a noisy,
smelly, or disruptive pet inside can be a problem. Most authorities feel
pets are replaceable but at least in SE PA the State Animal Response Team
mans pet shelters near the people shelter.

Hope for a gentle soaking rain soon. Flash floods can be as deadly as the
fire.
