I don't normally comment but as a farmer's wife of many years (and a horse owner for more) I can see that a subject could get "plowed in", many time farmers are out into the dark of night with the lights on and they don't shed that much light. Remember these machine are huge and wouldn't neccessarily "feel" a bump in the road. Sorry for the graphics, but it's true.
Beside, I can't tell you how many time  I've come across a bale of hay with "something" in it.   (turtles, snakes, a small deer once, huge rock) obviously this isn't a daily occurence but over 25 yrs I've seen it.
