I have tried the mule tree saddles and found they do not fit horses well at
all. Not all of my riding is done on mules. I also ride horses and I had
found that the semi quarterhorse tree will fit most mules and horses. When
you get to the mutton withered very round horses, the full quarterhorse tree
fits them the best. They do not fit any of the mules I had ever seen. It
will rock from side to side and will gall up the top of the withers and the
back bone toward the loin. The "Mule Tree" will tend to dig into many of
the horses above the shoulders on both sides of the withers (Did I spell
that right?).
