The fire company had the same problem. We actually have two organizations,
the fire company and the relief association. The fire company gets tax
money for its operating and capital budget plus donations for other stuff.
The relief gets tax money and investment income for certain statutory
activities (medical insurance, comp, disability payments) for members of the
fire company. The tax practioners picked one paragraph and the IRS picked
another.
