I don't have any experience doing this, but you'll probably find people who've done it on Ag Talk, http://talk.newagtalk.com/category-view.asp

I've used our John Deer 6 row planter that we use for our commercial corn for a variety of crops including our non-GMO corn and black turtle beans (I drop in Kinze bean wheels).

THis year I am looking at planting two small plots of corn that I have a small amount of seeds for.  I'd like to plant them in six rows and distribute the small amount of seed I have between the planting boxes.  Has anyone else done this and run into a any problems using small amounts of seed?

I also want to plant sunflowers with the same planter and am curious is anyone here has done that and if so, what was needed to make it work?  Will sunflower seed run through the same as corn (which is what I was going to try and do)?
