I have a website for our farm (out of date) and for three farmers markets.
If you are interested in having a website, I recommend you look at the
services of http://12wonderwebservices.com. I have no affiliation with them
other than being a VERY happy customer. Domain names are $12.95 through
them, and for $5/month you can either have a website you developed using
your own software, with lots of add-ons like a mailing list manager, or for
the same $5 you can use their built-in website templates and software,
SiteBuilder. I am just starting to do a website with SiteBuilder as soon as
the domain name gets settled, so can't give you an opinion on it yet.

I have also used GoDaddy for the domain name. They are highly rated and even
less expensive, but their service is nowhere near as good as 12wonderweb.
12WonderWeb has real people. You mostly get automated responses from
GoDaddy. Right now I am in a fight with GoDaddy because I want to transfer
my domain name to 12WonderWeb before it is up for renewal at the end of the
month. (I would like my money to go to 12WonderWeb.) In preparation for
that, I changed my email account of record to be sure I got the notices to
reply to for the transfer. They are now denying the transfer saying that
changing my email address of record is the same as actually transferring my
account in to them (I am trying to transfer it out of them), and they won't
allow a transfer for 60 days, by which time I will have had to pay the
renewal. Seems to me that the time folks are most likely to check all their
settings and update them is when they are getting ready to do something like
transfer or renew, and this is just downright dishonest on their part. I am
no longer recommending them.

You could also have a webpage - put the recipes on the
webpage (as well as sending them to your email list). Also,
put on the webpage what you will be bringing to market (as
well as sending it to your email list). Put contact info on
it too (your email address, phone, etc.).

Not a blog (with due respect to the bloggers). :) A
webpage of your own.

Example URL: http://www.yourfarmname.com (where you
substitute your farm's - or garden's name - for
'yourfarmname').

It is not difficult to learn simple HTML and make your own
webpages. To have your own farm name as the URL, you would
need to get a domain name. They cost about $19/year.

(For all I know, you're a web designer or programmer and
already know all about this... If so, never mind.)
