Not a good idea. When you open the bush you increase the chance of sunscald.
Staking peppers with the Florida weave method like tomatoes has become very
common around here. You sorta get the effect of pruning when you harvest the
first crown fruit which are always very large and profitable, plants then
branch out naturally into a fork like a pruned tomato. If you prune peppers
early like tomatoes you will loose the crown set...Bob.
