I bought an adjustable foam bed from original mattress factory (left side of what is now target in durham but used to be south square mall, near the indian place and SECU). We were looking for a more traditional mattress (the various memory foam ones were REALLY uncomfortable to me). The sales guy just put the kids on that one to amuse them while he talked to us. The eldest was like "you must try this" and I was like "yeah yeah kid whatever" but after trying an uncomfortable spring mattress I tried it and was like "holy crap, I want this bed" and we bought it. It is good. I like it. It vibrates. Just don't do...anything...but sit if you have it in the upward adjusted position. Trust me on that.

Hi All,

We're considering laying down the big bucks for a Sleep number bed, but are
concerned about the long term reliability and comfort.

Has anyone out there had any experiences (good or bad) they can relate?

Simon...
Consumer Reports had some very helpful advice on purchasing beds late
last year.

Consumer Reports is one of those magazines where it makes more sense to subscribe to the online version. Its cheap too, only $26/year.

The bed research was quite interesting.
