There has been a well coordinated effort to give "liberal" the same connotations as "communist", so its no surprise that any candidate from the Democratic Party is labeled as such, no matter what the reality of their actual views.

I don't know if any of you read the NYT this past Sunday, but there was a really interesting article about how conservative "think tanks" and pundits coordinate with the Republican Party on a daily basis with talking points in order to have a unified message presented in all media. (As well as a lot of other tactics.) Most of the article was about attempts to duplicate this effort on the Democratic side.

Its sad that the "news" has been converted from reporters getting a story, which takes knowledge, time, and effort, to nothing more than daily interviews with outside "experts" who are nothing more than paid shills working for one agenda or another. At least there are sites like http://mediamatters.org watching Fox News, but its not a substitute for reporting actual facts on a news show.

I wish there was a link to the article still on the site, but unfortunately it was a very long piece in the magazine, and the link appears to be gone :-(
