Job Title: instructional designer
Job Description: The instructional designer is responsible for working
with other Isoph staff and our clients
to scope, design, and develop
learning. The emphasis is on self-paced, asynchronous online
courses
developed for adult learners in the social sector (primarily
nonprofits,
associations, and foundations), although some
development may be for trainer-led synchronous
online
courses.<br><br>

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br>
· Work
closely with project teams of external curriculum developers and
subject matter experts (SMEs) and internal staff to design, develop,
and produce training materials and online courses. Proactively
communicate issues/challenges that may affect deliverables.<br>
·
Scope projects, including accurately estimating the number of hours
and necessary resources to complete a project and working to establish
a timeline for the project.<br>
· Assess learning objectives, design
instructional strategy (including advanced simulations
and role-play
exercises), develop curriculum, and script content.<br>
· Design and
implement assessments to gauge the effectiveness and impact of
training programs, and incorporate necessary revisions.<br>
· Use
Web-page design principles to flowchart, storyboard, and produce
screen layouts.<br>
· Be proactive in defining task list, and take
initiative to provide feedback and ideas.<br>
· Support other
designers and developers by providing feedback and/or quality checking
work
of other project team members during internal review
sessions.<br>
· Review and be familiar with all client creative
requirements, brand attributes, and style
guidelines for the
project.<br>
· Review and be familiar with all project documentation,
such as integrated processes, including project plans, design
document, meeting notes, and schedule.<br>
· Help Isoph establish its
overall course design methodologies and techniques. Develop
documentation to support these internal processes and aid clients in
understanding our approach.
