There is a donkey in my pasture now(I lease my pasture these days).
Jack is 26 years old, and very sweet, stubborn, but sweet. He always
greets me with a loud bray when I drive up or walk over to the fence.
He's a pussycat. :)

Most are quite possessive and ornery! We always ran them with our
goats and sheep since you don't have to make special feeding
arrangement like you do with dogs. And they are LOUD! You know when
someONE or someTHING that doesn't belong in your field out there.

Is this a common trait of donkeys in such a situation? How would
you evaluate the pros and cons of donkey versus dog for guard duty?
