Nice to have you back on the list, Mark. I agree with your recommendation of
Terence Donaldson's book (1997). I am practically reading it in tandem with
your own "The Mystery of Romans" and comparing the strenghts of your
respective
arguments. I not quite ready yet with Donaldson's book but at this stage I can
admit that I'm leaning more towards his side than yours. Donaldson does seem
to agree with me that Paul saw gentile-christians and jewish-cristians
together as
Gods true Israel. I also noticed that Donaldson has not engaged so much with
your
own book since he got it in his hands almost at the same time as his book
went to
print. But he does seem to have read "The Mystery of Romans".
Any objections to my identification of the "weak" and "strong" in Romans 14?
I also hope to return with a more developed criticism of some of your
arguments
in the Romans book later this week.
