Mike, Akila

Wow, thanks for the advice and ideas.

Let me look into all your suggestions and revert back ASAP. One thing I disagree with Akila on is that the content should not be cached for offline use - possibly only the stuff a user has already downloaded should be available while offline.

Cheers,
Raghav

Hi,

I think I also have several ideas for improvements.
  1. When inserting the visible license we have to connect to the internet, to download license image. It would be good to to have those images within the plugin for offline use.
  2. If we have them in the plugin we need a method to update them to the newest version, for example once a month. The images and the RDF both should be updated in this manner.

Yes, it would be awesome if CCOOO expanded to become a DAM (Digital Asset Manager) for Libre/OpenOffice, or interacted with such a DAMOOO :-) that was CC-aware. This crossed my mind but I didn't write up an issue because it is pretty big and I'm lazy. Clearly this could be one or more SoC projects.

Someone prototyped a CC-aware DAM several years ago -- see https://code.google.com/p/cc-dam/ unfortunately I don't remember the specifics -- but a DAM in service of a media-needing creation application suite like Libre/OpenOffice would be much more useful from the beginning.

  1. The alternative way is to update whole CCOOO. This is also not included in the current version refer this link for more information http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/DevGuide/Extensions/Online_Update_of_Extensions

Updating the extension doesn't seem to be a great way of updating content one has ingested.
