Sorry, your message was not sent out to 'b-hebrew'
because the first word of your message looks very similar to a system command.

If it is a command, you should email it to: lyris AT franklin.oit.unc.edu

If your message is definitely not a command, and is instead an email message
that
everyone on b-hebrew should receive, then you should re-send your message,
changing the first word so that it does not cause this warning.

Please remember that this list is not intended just for specialists.
It is for discussion of biblical Hebrew, for which (fortunately) there
are many excellent aids in English (and have been for a long time!),
and so there is no there is no need for beginners and intermediate
students to know any other languages. The list is also supposed to be
welcoming and respectful to non-specialists like Wondell rather than
trying to scare them off by expecting them to learn lots of other
languages before being able to participate in the discussions.
Sometimes the non-specialists have a nasty way of finding the weak
links in the scholars' arguments. Of course the non-specialists should
also be respectful to the specialists who do know many languages and
can correct misunderstandings.

Also a practical point with use of foreign languages on the list: Many
E-mail systems including mine get confused when they receive "upper
ASCII" letters corresponding to accented letters in French, Spanish
etc, and in some people's transliterations of Hebrew. Please try to
stick to the basic 26 English letters plus punctuation.

Is it deliberately illegal on this list to send a message starting
with the word "Please"?

If so, please change it! This is clearly a bug in the software!!

And if it cannot be changed, at least let us know!!!
