Thanks, Lon! I do still sometimes root some passiflora, and I
had also found that early in the season is best – necessary, I think. I hadn’t
come across the sustained heat trick with the seeds; the one I kept reading was
to soak the dried seeds 24 hours in passionfruit juice, or oj if not

Behalf Of Lon J. Rombough I've germinated P. incarnata
seed and had 100% success with year-old dry seed. The trick is that they like
LOTS of heat to germinate. I put the flat inside a larger flat and put a sheet
of glass over the top to make a "sweat box". This was INSIDE the
greenhouse to boot. The temperature stayed at 95 to 100 in the box. Within two
weeks all the seed was up. Once germinated, they grew fine at lower
temperatures. I have a productive, tasty
Passiflora incarnata vine. It tastes so good
