It's been a long cold winter, and it looks like the last of the season's snow will be melting just in time for Alex C to host an exciting Thursday Night Feature about the Original Music record label, which specializes in authentic world music recordings. Yoruba street percussion anybody? 9pm
Nimrod Workman worked as a coal miner and outspoken union supporter from 1909 (age 14) until 1951 -- upon retirement, he became a folk singer, releasing two albums in the 70's and becoming a fixture of the Appalachian music community. If you've ever seen "Coal Miner's Daughter", he's the guy leading Amazing Grace at the funeral. Anyway, Drag City records recently released I Want to Go Where Things Are Beautiful, a collection of unreleased Workman recordings from 1982. Tune in at 9pm for this Friday's Inside Track to hear this gem in it's entirety!
