LOUIE BLUIE on Hell or High Water, Sunday 1 p.m.
This week we will feature the music of William Howard Taft Armstrong
(a.k.a. Louie Bluie), who was an amazing artist, poet, composer, auto
worker, storyteller, legendary womanizer and mind-blowing musician
(especially on the fiddle), who learned to play over 20 instruments during
his lifetime. Born in Tennessee in 1909, he received a National Heritage
Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1990 and the
Tennessee Governor's Award in the Arts in early 2003 before he passed away
in Boston in July of that year.
