Hi all,
After moving from FreeBSD to SMGL I was pretty impressed ... especially with
the way the updates work and the amount of help you can get from the
mailinglists/IRC-channel. A lot of people helped a lot and Erics was right:
you do learn a lot when you move to SMGL.
Yesterday I updated my system after being away for a week (conference in
Greece). The update of the test-grimoire was massive, involving gcc 3.3, glibc
2.3.2, xfree86 4.3.0.1, linux 2.4.21, mozilla 1.4b etcetera. I asked for a
little advice on IRC, decided to try things step by step (gcc first ;-) and
(almost) everything went smoothly. I actually managed to solve some stuff on
my own, without having to ask for help.
In short: I'm a happy user. To quote Erics once more: happy to be here!
Just-my-five-cents'ly yours
Bas
