This is for utility and matching what seems to be a possible standard, not to
be
'magical'.

I don't think the date is as important, since we just need to know the version
in case there are ISO-specific bugs.

Yes you can, but I was thinking of external programs being able to find out
what
'release' Sorcery is at. I was thinking this could be used for some system
reports, so they could say, "Source Mage GNU/Linux, 0.7.1 ISO, Sorcery 1.4",
or
something similar.
