Is the real request to be able to see every possibility all the time, or just
to
see what the current person at the keyboard might care about, given their
choices?

If the latter, might it be possible at some point to expect the DEPENDS
conditionals (including those that rely on bash) to be a certain format so
that
'gaze dependencies' can have an interactive mode that disregards any existing
cached answers for that spell and presents the queries itself? (Without
saving
the results, of course.) The "certain format" would mostly involve ensuring
that the DEPENDS file can run its internal queries without excess reliance on
other spell files it may not have available.

Another (better/more complete(?)) option might be a 'test' mode to cast, which
would mostly run the CONFIGURE and DEPENDS phases of a spell and then output
what would be cast. It wouldn't store any answers and wouldn't care if the
sources are available or not. RPM and portage both have this in some form, I
miss it from time to time in sorcery.
