Summary: Sorcery needs /usr/sbin in PATH
Product: Sorcery
Version: 1.11.x
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Unknown
AssignedTo: sm-sorcery-bugs AT lists.ibiblio.org
ReportedBy: eric AT sandall.us
# /usr/sbin/sorcery -v
1.11.4-rc5
When trying to cast glibc from a RedHat box (which doesn't have /sbin or
/usr/sbin in its PATH for users) to fix my SMGL install (via
install_root...man,
I love install_root :)) I get this and then the cast stops (it's glibc from
devel, which conflicts with glibc-kernel-headers, which is installed):
/var/lib/sorcery/modules/build_api/common: line 53: dispel: command not found
Should I just add /usr/sbin to my PATH or should Sorcery be "fixed" to not
need
/usr/sbin in the PATH? It might be a good idea to use absolute paths anyways
so
that other similar commands (sorcery, scribe, cast, gaze, etc.) from other
packages (if any) won't screw it up. If so, then I'll volunteer to go through
test Sorcery (for integration into stable/devel later) and use absolute paths,
though what I'd like to do is define SORCERY_PATH, CAST_PATH, etc. and use
those
instead of explicitly using /usr/sbin/sorcery or /usr/sbin/cast so that, at
some
later point, they can be put in other locations (at the admins perogative) and
still work.
Hi Andrew. :)
