"I never said that behavior was sane (although i still contend that it did
what you asked it to)."
Yes, it did what was asked, but as adding twice the same grimoire is silly, it
should be avoided.
"As far as users thinking sorcery is not well designed I would be inclined to
agree with them in some situations. There are a number of very poorly designed
areas in sorcery, many of which were carried in from sorcerer...but we're
working on that :)"
Great, I hope we'll have soon a rock solid sorcery. It looks to me that
sorcery
"heritage" is heavy. It made us lose lots of time understanding the (horribly
written) code. Now we face obviously design errors of these dark sorcerer
days.
Damn, I never thought Kyle crazyness would have followed us till now :(
Thanks for working in it :)
About crazy corner cases, I'll try to find other ones, and report them.
For regression tests, that would be quite a big piece of work, may be useful
ok,
_but_, as we are quite near 1.0, IMHO it would a better way to keep
maintenance
ongoing for 1.x, and rewrite from scratch sorcery. OK, that is also a big
piece
of work, but in such a case, we'll be able to design cleanly the "new"
sorcery,
and completely master the process. That means, time comsumed to redesign and
rewrite the beast, but loads of time won, because of no time lost having to
work
around design flaws...
Regards.
