"That doesn't mean such a behaviour is sane. It may makes users think sorcery
is
not well designed, that corner cases are not tested, and may shown strange
bugs
due to siutations untested. Preventing sorcery from users sillyness or errors
is
good (TM) :)"

I never said that behavior was sane (although i still contend that it did
what you asked it to). As far as users thinking sorcery is not well designed
I would be inclined to agree with them in some situations. There are a number
of very poorly designed areas in sorcery, many of which were carried in from
sorcerer...but we're working on that :)

As far as untested corner cases go, its not an easy task to test
all of them because there are far more incorrect things that can be given
than correct things. If you want to keep looking for them that'd be a big
help. We may not fix all of them to do what you want, but we'll try to fix
them such that they at least dont blow up. Another thing that would be a
big help is a set of regression tests, just simple tests that test the
functionality, make sure we didnt break anything, and that bugs (like this)
dont re-occur.
