The default /etc/wgetrc is fully documented (at least in my installation
of wget). If it is not for you please file a bug against the codex.

The relavent section of wgetrc is:
# Many sites are behind firewalls that do not allow initiation of
# connections from the outside. On these sites you have to use the
# `passive' feature of FTP. If you are behind such a firewall, you
# can turn this on to make Wget use passive FTP by default.
#passive_ftp = off

I think its a relatively simple task to uncomment that one line and change
"off" to "on". I sympathize with your concern about intimidating config
files. However I believe one of the philosophical goals of sourcemage is
to provide as little buffer between application configuration as possible.
The ultimate configuration tool is the all powerful editor.

If a user is incapable of configuring their system on their own we have
an irc channel to help hold their hand through it, and if they are still
uncomfortable with that notion and are incapable or unwilling to learn
about their system I question whether or not sourcemage is for them.

Sorcery is complex enough and I dont want to fall into this mode of
having to re-implement a configuration tool inside sorcery.

If configuring their default wget behavior is sufficiently un-obvious
when behind a firewall I question the use of a sorcery option to do the
same would be helpful.

Besides, if you are behind a firewall its probably going to be useful
to set the passive_ftp value globally rather than have sorcery's knowledge
of wget different than everything elses.

If you really still feel that there should be an option for passive ftp
in sorcery, please reopen this bug and explain. Thank you.
