Andrew,

I love the progress you are making on this, but have a few things to ask of
you
before submission as you seem to have the best hold on this idea:

1) all patches submitted need to be updated with bashdoc entries for new
funcitons and adjusted bashdoc entries for the changed/added parts of existing
functions (I want to stop adding stuff w/o it now that we have a bashdoc'er in
the form of David).

2) for big changes like this it would be nice to see a document (design)
detailing the plan of attack / what you want to achieve. I for one have a bit
of
trouble following the scattered discussions here in the bug (I do get the idea
but it would be nice to refer to once concise document with the design for
such
a change). I can't refer you to an existing one, as rycee has moved our
simpleinit design and implementation plan off the wiki as it is now done
(rycee,
can you put a copy of that back in the wiki as example design doc?)).

That's it, before I would add this stuff it would alos be nice to hear a bit
more from the sorcery team as to why this is a good or bad idea?

Good start I think, let's see if we can't get this into shape and properly
setup!

PS. to run the patches into one all you need to do is 'diff -Naur <orig>
<change> >> <existing patch file>' which cat's it on the end... ;-)

Thansk,

erics
