other way around, if it's NOT HEAD or MAIN it will use export.

Again, the other way around, only use cvs export on branched versions, not the
HEAD or MAIN branch.

When you use cvs export, you loose the ability to run a cvs update to just
download the updated files. For versioned branches, that is not a problem,
for
HEAD / MAIN, if you want to pull a daily build, you'd only want to download a
couple files rather than the entire thing, which is why for the HEAD / MAIN
branch you'd want to use cvs checkout.
