Summary: cast: multi-grimoire problems
Product: Sorcery
Version: Devel
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Cast
AssignedTo: sm-sorcery-bugs AT lists.ibiblio.org
ReportedBy: christian AT subigo.dk

it is currently not possible to specify from which grimoire you want to cast a
specific spell.
Say you have both test and devel, and you whish to cast a spell which appears
in
both grimoires, you have to reconfigure the grimoires.
(if, however the spell to be cast is not in the primary grimoire, cast will
look
in the next grimoire listed in /etc/sorcery/local/grimoire)
This is imho a major glitch in the multi-grimoire idea, and needs fixing.
Still, it will cause certain issues regarding the syntax of cast, as an
example
of how the syntax could be:
'cast pptp-linux from custom' intended to cast the spell 'ptp-linux' from the
grimoire 'custom' will instead try to cast the spells 'pptp-linux', 'from' and
'custom'
should cast be altered so that my example would work as intended, then we
would
have to avoid having a spell named 'from' and having reserved words also seems
like a Bad Idea(tm)

any thoughts?
