to fix it (correctly or not) we need to install qt to a single dir
(/usr/lib/qt i think) then add that dir to /etc/ld.so.conf (as the qt devs
recommend).
Then when a version change happens it is a simple thing to override QTDIR in
the BUILD, and remove /usr/lib/qt from LD_LIBRARY_PATH and run make. The old
qt will not need to conflict and it will stay live in the system until
prepare_install is run.
This would also solve the current problem of linux needing a patch to run
qconfig (but the patch hasn't been submitted, so it fails) and all the other
QTDIR related problems we have.
