I don't know what bugs you are talking about, but have you considered
becoming
a guru ?
We no longer expect a new guru to maintain a whole section, a lighter
workload
is possible if desired. The level of work you see me, sandalle and a few
others do is not necessary.
A half a dozen simple bugfixes (applying supplied changes from bugs,
sometimes
a simple version bump) per week would be a great help to us (especially if a
dozen extra people decided to do it :) ). I expect a half dozen changes would
take upto an hour a week ? Less time as you become more proficient, more time
occasionally when something you start doesn't go as planned. This is the time
actually spent, time waiting for cast -c $just-fixed-a-bug-spell to complete
isn't counted, because you can do that in the background.
Of course help when needed could be found from existing active gurus, and (if
wanted) sandalle or myself could assign simple bugs to you, with fairly
simple instructions.
Any other users feel they have something to offer ?
