Hi,
in the process of manually compiling a source package as a regular user
I've stumbled upon what might be a minor bug in the openssl spell, or it
might be a security feature. I was wondering what people thought...
I did the ./configure as a regular user and it failed because it couldn't
access the /usr/lib/pkgconfig directory. On my system, the permissions on
that directory were 644, so I needed to "chmod +x" the directory before I
could continue.
"gaze from /usr/lib/pkgconfig" says this directory was created by the
openssl spell, so what I'm wondering is if the execute bit was intentionally
left off the directory for some security purpose, or whether this is a bug in
the openssl bug?
What do you think?
