It depends on your motherboard chipset if AGPGART is better or nvidias
internal driver. The problem is that the internal nvidia AGP doesn't
work if AGPGART is compiled into the kernel, try making it a module and
using
Option "NvAGP" "1"
in the device section of your XF86Config to make it use its internal
AGP.

If it still doesn't work with the internal AGP, try looking through the
XFree86 logfile and the NVIDIA driver README
(/usr/share/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0/README) for some troubleshooting clues.
