OK, on preliminary investigation, I have only one spell in the printer
section
which creates a GID (no UID), and it isn't in the accounts or groups files.
It's for the mgetty spell and the group it creates is called "phone". I
suspect that it's generic enough that any such getty program can use the same
GID. Although it may not be necessary, I would probably create a UID of the
same name to cover the bases. Of course that's just me and you're welcome to
do as you see fit. :^)
