I have a potentially equally ugly suggestion. How about chained
spells? Casting sorcery would ask some questions and then download the
actual sorcery spell from sourcemage.org, install and cast the
downloaded spell.. Casting kde-i18n or mozilla would bunzip2 the proper
spell from the spell's subspell subdirectory into /tmp and cast it..
For sorcery, something like:
BUILD:
cp -Rp /usr/src/sorcery /tmp/
POST_INSTALL:
codex_is_directory_a_spell /tmp/sorcery &&
codex_add_grimoire /tmp 0 &&
cast sorcery
codex_remove_grimoire /tmp
rm -rf /tmp/sorcery
It seems kind of kludgey to me, but just a thought..
