<main question>
Am I correct in assuming that the only way to compile samba at the moment
is to disengage the PAM side of it?
<just curious>
Also, I noticed when I first cast samba that a number of required files and
directories
were not present to make samba work. Is this the norm or an oversite?
eg. after straight cast and entering smbpasswd username
at prompt that an error ensues about a database not being
able to be accessed.
solution: place a file named smbpasswd in directory /etc/samba/private
and viola no error. (also, above dir also needs to be made as
not there by default)
