Imho it is a "feature" of our init system. The "$0 start" is called in the
same
wasy also from other scripts (wlan, smgl-messagebus, named, ...).

This is the same as enable it.
Try "telinit bootdisable sshd" and "telinit bootenable sshd" and see
permission
of /etc/init.d/runlevels/%3/sshd.
