------- Additional Comments From dhaley AT hot.rr.com 2006-07-24 19:55 -------
I just wanted to stop in again with an update. I have had a chance to look at
the spell that was submitted above and have to say well done, and good job.

I do have a bit of a confession. The spell was due for a massive overhaul I
had
planned on doing once school, and work settle down a bit in a few weeks. You
however have beat me to the punch ;)

Jam, this I think has been this way for some time if I remember. I am a bit
of a
purest and chose the jam build method in order to avoid the emulation layer.
However as posted already CrystalSpace should build using make and jam is not
required unless those building items with CrystalSpace build those items with
jam, than CrystalSpace requires to be built with jam as well. That according
from what I had gathered from the CrystalSpace documentation. In regards to
this
jam can be looked at as an optional dependancy for those that wish to persue
the
jam route.

Dependancies, such as those mentioned above in previous posts (cegui & cal3d)
are easy enough to adjust.

Placement, I think I will leave alone for now. I will say that I don't really
see a problem with where it is, though on the same token if it is decided that
it should move I don't see a problem with this.

Those items touched on, I do not see a reason why your spell can not be put in
place of the old one that is there. As I have already stated this spell was
overdue for major work as it was. However, using the spell as provided and
having it build using make the compile fails out and the casting dies. Though
this can be overridden by those above me, I would like to get it working on my
machine before I make any swap in the repo itself.

That said, I would like to ask teh possibility that your compile log be posted
for me to take a look at. What I am interested in comparing at the moment is
the
./configure portion of the log. I am trying to see if there is something
perhaps
that I might be missing, that is not listed in the CrystalSpace documentation
that might show up in the log itself.
