the xorg-server spell has a lot of logic for selecting the appropriate drivers, most of which have not been updated for years.
This might have seemed logical when the code was written 7 years ago, but seems unnecessarily complex now.
On a modern system the most suitable drivers are likely to be
xf86-input-[evdev, libinput, synaptics]
xf86-video-[ati,intel,nouveau]
I am tempted to simplify xorg-server by suggesting the above drivers, and adding a message stating that a large selection of drivers for older hardware can be found in xorg-drivers.
Any comments?
