Didn't we have a plan some time back? Push out stable-rc (a rather
rotten one, but, well, it's not getting worse). Then merge in
devel-xorg-modular, with gcc-4.9.

I need to check the libpng-1.6 situation again ... I stumbled recently
over newer texlive requiring it, apparently, while our current texlive
doesn't build because it's broken by freetype2 (in devel-xorg).

Well, I'm in favour or getting the old stuff marked as rusty-stable and
trying to get test into something current and workable again by merging
things. The choice now is about life or death, pretty much. Old and
buggy or somewhat fresh and buggy. We won't drop the buggy anytime soon.

What I wanted to ensure is that we can safely rebuild current stable
and then have the upgrade to stable-rc tested. Then, after not too
long, the upgrade to the newer stable-rc resembling current test with
important merges. We don't have the manpower to have branches lying
around for many months/years.

Oh, about the safe rebuild: http://sourcemage.org/issues/662

And not to forget: http://sourcemage.org/issues/423

Alrighty then,

Thomas
