Hi,
I'm wondering if someone else has hit the bug I filed... When
upgrading to kmod 5 + udev 182, the machines, both x86_64 and i686,
reboot when attempting to remount the root FS..
Please see the bug below... In there you can find linux config files
for both machines. Perhaps I don't have the right configs for the new
kmod + udev, but reverting them to kmod 4 + udev 175 solved the issue
for me...
Please let me know...
Thanks,
Javier.

Subject: [Grimoire - Bug #549] (New) [kmod + udev] new versions of
kmod (5) + udev (182) under test break boot
To: j.e.vasquez.v AT gmail.com
Issue #549 has been reported by Javier Vasquez.
----------------------------------------
Bug #549: [kmod + udev] new versions of kmod (5) + udev (182) under
test break boot
http://www.sourcemage.org/issues/549
Author: Javier Vasquez
Status: New
Priority: Normal
Assignee:
Category: Kernels
Target version:
Grimoire: Test
sorcery -s brought new kmod + udev spells between several other things.
The machine no longer boots. It gets stuck at attempting to remount root
on the corresponding runlevel...
The only message I could get at the very end (there's an additional
*sync* stuff I have no time to read and write by hand) is:
rc: Entered run level DEV...
Ext4-fs (sda7): remounted opts: (errors=remount-ro)
Doing "fsck -f" from live CD to all partitions, booting with "-single"
(recovery mode), and some other tricks don't help a bit.
Through chroot kmod got reverted to 4 and udev to 175, and only then
things went back to normal.
Attached goes current (3.9.2) linux config file for x86_64, in case
there's something that could be done from a linux stand point to get
newer versions of kmod + udev working, though the failure also shows
up for 3.6.9 and 3.0.0 (original SMGL image linux)...
I also ran into this, but didn't have time to research as it was my work box and I needed it back ASAP. Just stayed on stable grimoire for a bit, but a recent update to test (this week) seems to have continued to work.
