While I agree that calling for others to help and participate is a good
idea, and that it will certainly help get the work done faster (as well
as potentially more accurately, since there will be more eyes looking at
the same problem), I still advocate that the work should take place in a
branch. The reason for this is that it makes reverting series of changes
easy, since theoretically in the main branch there would only be a
single merge, and it also helps isolate users who are using the test
grimoire or even via git:// from any in-between changes that can cause
breakage on their systems.

I think one of the reasons that branches are so ineffective in our
project is that they are almost never used, so as a project we aren't
accustomed to using them. Perhaps if more changes occurred in branches
more often, we would become more accustomed to working with them, and
then they would become more effective tools for us. Just an idea. Maybe
I'm wrong. RFC. :)
