after upgrading from linux 2.6.38.1 to linux-2.6.38.2
I get error:
Fatal: Setup length exceeds 31 maximum; kernel setup will overwrite boot
loader
when running lilo.
The kernel config is the same in both cases.
I tried recompiling lilo. Lilo then gave some more information
# lilo
/proc/misc: No entry for device-mapper found
Is device-mapper driver missing from kernel?
/proc/devices: No entry for device-mapper found
Failed to set up list of device-mapper major numbers
Fatal: Setup length exceeds 31 maximum; kernel setup will overwrite boot
loader
The only significant change on my system since the previous linux upgrade was
gcc-4.6.0
# uname -a
Linux Gemini-64 2.6.38.1 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Mar 24 20:49:52 CET 2011 x86_64
GNU/Linux
Any suggestions?
Regards, Treeve
