Reminder, the next developer meeting is scheduled for this Saturday,
5/19, at 17:00 GMT / 12:00 CDT / 10:00 PDT. This has been scheduled
for months so hopefully people have had it on their calendars.
Just to be sure with daylight savings time and GMT:
Does 17:00 GMT mean "date -u" shows 17:00, or 16:00?
GMT is independent of the time of year, local time is calculated from it. For instance, EET equals GMT+3 during daylight savings and GMT+2 for the rest of the year. If `date -u` shows 17:00 it's 17:00 GMT, given that your system settings are OK.
As a side note, I think UTC is the preferred term. (IIRC, GMT and UTC are actually different things, although in practice they are mostly interchangeable.)
