Hi,
just run unattended "sorcery system-update" which broke my laptop (test
grimoire).
I can't log in.
I run the same on my server and all work like a charm. No idea where the
problem is.

Something is broken with shadow or linux-pam or ...
Login even doesn't want my password.
When I write login name (root or user, the same) I can only read 5 times
"login incorrect" and "Maximum number of tries exceeded (5)" even I
wrote it only once.
When I removed root's password from /etc/passwd (passwords again in
/etc/passwd :-( not in /etc/shadow) by live linux nothing changed.
Boot with "linux init=/bin/bash" works but problems with device files
(/dev/hdaX don't exist, I have them in /etc/fstab).
When I tried to change password, system only wrote "passwd:
Authentication token manipulation error".

I will try to recover it. Only now I have not time.
I write it just to warn users.
And thinking about some "disaster recovery howto" in our wiki.
