Changed it to gkt+2 in depends and --with-gtk=2 in build and it built
fine with gtk+2 and boinc compiled fine with it. gspiceui also compiled
with it but it also compiled fine with it though does get a "Failed to
display HTML document in ISO-8859-1 encoding" error on startup.

A solution is need to either see if the two can be parallel installed
somehow or see if there is a relatively easy fix to get the programs to
use one or the other.
