Hello guys. I am new to SM and want to give it a try. The booting didn't went
as
I expected and now I have a question. My system is AMD64 3200+ with one IDE
burner and two SATA-disks. I need to have either sata_via or sata_promise
modules present in the installation so that my drives are detected. The
booting
of ISO cd started just fine, but if I put 'linux' at the prompt, the boot
gives
me kernel panic. If I put 'initrd' to the prompt instead, the boot hangs right
after loading the loop driver.

Wasn't normal procedure to put 'install'?

The normal procedure is to hit enter or type "install", as documented here:
http://benoit.papillault.free.fr/notes/boot-design.php
http://wiki.sourcemage.org/index.php?page=Install+from+newer+ISO

Right now, x86_64 architecture is a low priority for the ISO team. See here:

However, if you find some bugs, please report them using http://bugs.sourcemage.org/ in order to get them fixed after we release our 1.0.
