Hello guys. I am new to SM and want to give it a try. The booting didn't went
as
I expected and now I have a question. My system is AMD64 3200+ with one IDE
burner and two SATA-disks. I need to have either sata_via or sata_promise
modules present in the installation so that my drives are detected. The
booting
of ISO cd started just fine, but if I put 'linux' at the prompt, the boot
gives
me kernel panic. If I put 'initrd' to the prompt instead, the boot hangs right
after loading the loop driver. Again, no drives detected. On both occasions
the
IDE burner detected just fine. Would it be possible to have such kernel in the
install cd so that systems that have only sata-drives can boot and install.
Thanks ...
