aah, the services are allready started during the spell casting. If you
do
telinit run vmware stop
telinit run vmware start

everything should work. At least it's here. Could you verify that please
?

I believe that when there's some problem during vmware startup, it
creates /etc/vmware/not_configured (I think) and only vmware_config.pl
will remove that file later.

For me it created /dev/vmmon and /dev/vmnet* itself during the install.

I believe it does, could you please try removing the lines from
dev.missing, remove the /dev/vmmon and try casting the spell ? I'm
interestid if it gets created right after the cast or no. I'm using
linux 2.6.8.1 with 034 version of udev.

If yes, I have just to fix the starting script (theirs, not mine :) to
not allow starting the services while they are running.

Thank you
